affordable housing equals sub-standard housing in Halifax and in many
other communities across Nova Scotia?

Then join the Halifax Coalition Against Poverty on Saturday, August 19th
for our second Annual Carnival of Resistance: An afternoon of free food,
music, theatre, kids activities, tenants' rights information and a tour of
gentrification in Halifax's historic North End.


When: Saturday, August 19th, 1-4pm
Where: South Commons Triangle, (between Bell Rd. and Cogswell Rd.- next to
the Pavilion) Halifax.

Adsum Flavour 2006







Get ready for a taste adventure!



On Friday August 25th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Prince George Hotel, will 
host Adsum Flavour, in conjunction with event sponsors Canadian Tire, 
ExxonMobil, CTV and the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation.



Chef Bear of GIO has invited all the past participating restaurants as well 
as a few new exciting entrants to take part in this year's event.  Each Chef 
will prepare gourmet offerings paired with their chosen wines.  Each wine 
will be poured by a wine professional who will offer commentary and insight 
into the wine and food pairing.



A silent auction will also be available during the event.



All proceeds will go to Adsum for Women & Children.



Adsum for Women & Children offers emergency shelter, long term affordable 
housing and short term programming for women and children who are homeless.
