Dear Friends and Colleagues, 
 
Attached is our report, Struggling to Survive: Women on Employment
Support and Income Assistance (ESIA) Provide Their Key Recommendations
for Policy Reform.
Over the past six months we met with 91 women from across Nova Scotia
who have extensive experience with the ESIA program. These women
prioritized the policy reform recommendations coming from our previous
projects, Social Assistance Reform in Nova Scotia: Is it Working for
Women? and Follow-Up to Social Assistance Reform: Making it Work for
Women! 
 
The key recommendations outlined in this report confirm the desire of
women to secure employment, care for their families, and live a life
independent of ESIA.
 
We will hold a public release of this report in the Spring, but in the
interim please feel free to share this report with your contacts in the
social justice community. Should you have any questions in regards to
this report or our project please do not hesitate to contact me at your
convenience.
