Dalhousie Legal Aid Service is seeking to hire a Community Legal Worker on a
temporary (half time hours) basis for a 10 month term to commence on May 14,
2007.
 
This person will be responsible for case management and advocacy on behalf
of individuals primarily in the areas of administrative law (income
assistance, residential tenancies, public housing, Canada Pension Plan
Appeals, and Nova Scotia Power disconnects).
 
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.  A law degree is
not necessary and any applicant with a law degree must not be called to the
bar.  Practical experience and a solid track record of advocacy and
knowledge of the above noted administrative law areas would be considered an
asset.   Strong communication skills, a commitment to social justice and
knowledge of anti-oppressive practice are necessary. Those without law
degrees are encouraged to apply.
