MEDIA ADVISORY
Friday, February 23rd, 2007
The Affordable Energy Coalition will be presenting its second annual
assessment of the government's performance on eliminating energy poverty on
Monday, February 26th, 2007. The report card presented will focus on energy
assistance, energy efficiency, as well as an overall grade.
The combination of low-income, inefficient housing, and high-energy bills
has put a significant number of Nova Scotians in energy poverty.
The Affordable Energy Coalition is dedicated to ensuring universal access to
a reasonable amount of energy for all Nova Scotians. It encompasses members
of poverty, social justice, and environmental groups.
