Metro Turning Point Centre Welcomes New Executive Director

 

(Halifax)  The Board of Directors of Metro Turning Point Centre announced
the new Executive Director on March 5th at 4:00 pm at the Centre at 2170
Barrington Street in their Board Room.

 

The new Executive Director, Michael Poworoznyk will begin the position on
April 30, 2007.  In the meantime, he will spend time understanding the
issues related to people who are homeless and living in poverty in the
Halifax Community.

 

Michael comes from Hamilton where he was employed as the Director of
Operations with Mission Services of Hamilton Inc where he held a number of
positions. He therefore has a wealth of experience in this sector -
networking, developing partnership, fundraising and possesses experiential
education.

 

Barbara Nehiley, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors and Chair of the
Personal Committee for Metro Turning Point Centre is very excited about this
announcement.  "We are very pleased that Michael's move to Halifax coincides
with our need for leadership.  Michael has expressed a clear understanding
of our need for change and renewal.  We are very excited about the
opportunity to work with Michael" - Barbara Nehiley, Vice Chair, Board of
Directors and Chair of the Personnel Committee - Metro Turning Point Centre.

 

The Board and Staff will welcome Michael at the Metro Turning Point on
Monday, March 5, 2007 at 4:00 pm.
