1) The Federation of Canadian Municipalities has released its latest
Quality of Life report on deteriorating housing and homelessness conditions
in major Canadian cities. The report notes that in recent years Canada has
had no trouble building lots of new homes. The problem is that a growing
number of Canadians have been priced out of the ownership and rental
markets. The report calls for a major new investment by senior levels of
government in social and affordable housing.
